Learning More

By joining the group you can be part of gentle organised trips to wildlife sites or even gardens in the area to see (or hear) perhaps nightingales, nesting herons, marsh fritillary butterflies etc. and learn the different bird songs in our gardens and hedgerows. Evening bat walks and talks about wildlife can be arranged . You can learn how best to create your own wildlife garden, what bat and bird boxes to put up, even make your own on special workshop days.

It is also hoped to establish a nature reserve area in the village and try and enhance wildlife opportunities where possible.

The founder of the group, Kevin Cook, is an experienced naturalist having worked in nature conservation professionally since 1976, and will give advice and show interesting wildlife to anyone who asks!
